●Anatomy of Hatha Yoga-Feet and knee New
Wed 7th Nov 12:30-15:30
Japanese and Enlgish
¥6,000 (client)(former Be Yoga TT ¥5,000)

The base of support of the body - the feet - offer a beautiful image of how the passive and active forces of release and support operate in the human system.  The foot evolved over millions of years in a world with no roads or sidewalks. It's clear that it is massively over-engineered for the way it is used in a world where the uneven surfaces have all been leveled and paved. When the adaptability of the foot is no longer needed for locomotion, the deeper muscles that support the arches inevitably weaken, leading to a lack of support for the entire body. The practice of Yoga in general, and of standing postures in particular, is one of the best ways to restore the natural aliveness, strength and adaptability of the feet. Once our foundation is improved, it's vastly easier to put the rest of our house in order.

The knee is the largest joint in the body, and perhaps the most vulnerable.  Its structure exemplifies the yogic principles of sthira and sukha in form and function.  Understanding how to protect and honor this remarkable joint can lead to breakthroughs in many aspects of asana practice.

●Anatomy of Hatha Yoga-pelvis and spine  New
Fri 9th Nov 13:00-16:00
Japanese and Enlgish
¥6,000 (client)(former Be Yoga TT ¥5,000)

The full glory of nature ingenuity is apparent in the human spine.  From an engineering perspective it clear that we have the smallest base of support, the highest center of gravity, and the heaviest brain (proportional to our total body weight) of any other mammal. As the only true biped mammals on the planet, we are also earth least mechanically stable creatures.  Fortunately, the disadvantage of having a heavy cranium balancing on top of the whole system is offset by the advantage of having that big brain; it can figure out how to make the whole thing work efficiently? And that is where Yoga can help.

Our human form in general, and our spines in particular, exhibit an extraordinary resolution between the contradictory requirements of rigidity and plasticity.  As we shall see in this workshop, the structural balancing of the forces of sthira and sukha within our spine and pelvis relates to a principle called intrinsic equilibrium a deep source of support that can be uncovered through yoga practice.

●Anatomy of Hatha Yoga-neck and shoulder   New
Sat 10th Nov 15:00-18:00
Japanese and Enlgish
¥6,000 (client)(former Be Yoga TT ¥5,000)

The neck and shoulders are some of the most vulnerable parts of the body in the practice of Hatha Yoga.  This workshop will review their basic anatomy and function, with a focus on how to free the breathing in order to create more support for these essential structures.   Basic movement and stretching sequences will be covered, as well as individual observation and adaptation principles.

The Warrior Series - A Breath-Centered Vinyas
Wednesday 7th November 7:00-9:00am
This workshop will be in English & Japanese.
¥5,500

This strong, flowing, practice,is ideal for yogis who have done a few too many down dogs, up dogs and chaturangas.  Leslie will lead you through a specially designed vinyasa that strongly works the legs, opens the hips and moves the spine in all possible directions; all without putting any body weight on your hands.  This is an ideal template to use for sequences aimed at students who suffer from a variety of upper body complaints. The sequence will be taught with an emphasis on flowing continuously with the breath, and detailed written instructions, alignment cues and explanations will be offered at the end.

●Breath and Anatomy Workshop
Thursday 8th November 12:30-15:30
This workshop will be in English.
¥4,000 (client)(former Be Yoga TT ¥3,500)

The process of breathing is at the functional core of any mind-body practice. In this workshop, Leslie Kaminoff will lead participants to a progressively deeper understanding of the vital forces at work in the human breathing mechanism.  Topics covered will include the basic anatomy of breathing, the mechanics of spinal movement, coordinating the three diaphragms (bandhas), and how Yoga practice helps to stretch and strengthen the key structures of the breathing body.Utilizing a combination of printed and visual material, hands-on exchange, practice and discussion, this workshop will convey a vastly deeper and richer appreciation of anatomy in general, and specifically how the coordination of the diaphragm and accessory breathing muscles plays a critical role in exercise  and movement. Ample time will be devoted to individual concerns and questions.

●Demystifying the Bandhas
Friday 9th November 7:00-9:00am
This workshop will be in English & Japanese.
¥5,500

Recently, the "yogic locks" of Mula, Uddiyana and Jalandhara Bandha have become the subject of much interest, misinformation and confusion. In this class, Leslie applies his unique, experiential approach to clarify the anatomical basis and proper use of these powerful, yet widely misunderstood tools.  By clearly linking the bandhas with their corresponding anatomical structures, and practicing a few simple, yet powerful vinyasa sequences, participants will gain a direct experience of these vital, transformational  practices.

●Sanskrit Phonetics and the Creative Power of Sound
Saturday 10th November 8:00-9:30am
This workshop will be in English
¥3,000 (client) (former Be Yoga TT ¥2,500)

Asana practice is a complete way to exercise, re-pattern and integrate the physical body; chanting Sanskrit syllables yields the same benefits for the mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. Leslie Kaminoff will teach his simple, accessible yet profound method of transformational chanting, utilizing the five locations of human sound production inscribed in the Sanskrit alphabet. After experiencing this powerful approach to mastering the creative power of sound, your voice will never be the same!
