WORKSHOP CONTENT

For this workshop series, we have invited Carlos Pomeda, a professional lecturer in the fields of Yoga and Sanskrit, to teach us the deep history and mythology behind our daily yoga practices.

Carlos has previously instructed our students at the Be Yoga Japan studio. This time, we will have a professional yoga interpreter, Minako Suzuki, to help our Japanese students to comfortably understand the beauty behind Sanskrit.

The workshop series will be divided into 3 sessions as follows.

 

How to Enjoy Sanskrit Language

This is an enjoyable workshop designed for yoga students who are wanting to directly read the important passages of ancient yogic scriptures to further deepen their understanding.

For this workshop, we focus on the outlines of the Sanskrit language and its history, the practice guidance of the correct pronunciation of Sanskrit sounds, the translation of the mantra and literature and the practice on the pronunciation of general yogic terminology. There will also be a question and answer session.

The “Shining” Devas, in other words, the many legendary gods of yoga, embodies us the powerful and profound essence and application of yoga into our everyday lives. By following its history, the clarity of their teaching, gave stimulus to the seekers and ascetics that are beyond their generations.

With the secrets of “anatomy” revealed by the Tantric Master, we invite you to the fascinating journey of Yoga Sanskrit. This will also include an effective exercise to enhance day-to-day practices of yoga.

ABOUT THE TEACHER (Carlos Pomeda)

Carlos Pomeda, a San Skrit lecturer & yoga instructor

Originally from Madrid, Spain, Carlos Pomeda has 35 years of experience in the study, practice and teaching of the yoga traditions. He received formal, traditional training in yoga during 18 years as a monk of the Sarasvati order, 9 of which he spent in India, in the Siddha Yoga Ashram, studying under the guidance of Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda.

As a teacher, Carlos is known for his love of the Indian yoga traditions, his insight, his humour, his deep empathy with his audiences and his ability to convey the deepest scriptural teachings in a way that is clear, meaningful and applicable.

ABOUT THE INTERPRETER (Minako Suzuki)

Minako Suzuki, a yoga instructor and English to Japanese interpreterMina was originally drawn to yoga as a way to manage autonomic nervous system imbalances she suffered from. So clear were the benefits she gleaned from yoga that she has become a lifelong practitioner and devoted herself to sharing the practice with others.

She lived near Yokota Air Force Base in Tokyo as a child and she developed a natural English ability by playing with her American friends.

Now, she interprets for English-speaking yoga teachers, translates yoga related materials, and teaches English to children and adults through yoga.
